In the last seven days, leadership moves affecting supply chain and logistics roles have continued apace. Here are five notable appointments—all in roles directly tied to supply-chain strategy or execution.

Tyson Foods named Devin Cole as Chief Operating Officer, inheriting the supply chain, beef, pork, and prepared foods divisions. He replaces Brady Stewart, who departed following a code-of-conduct violation. Estimated salary: $800,000–$900,000.Elevating an internal veteran reduces disruption—Cole’s familiarity with operating units limits transition risk and preserves continuity. The shakeup comes a year after CFO John R. Tyson, the founder’s great-grandson, was fired following a DUI arrest—the second senior exit for misconduct in just over a year.

DHL Supply Chain appointed Andries Retief as Chief Development Officer, responsible for next-generation supply-chain solutions and strategic partnerships. Estimated salary: €400,000–€500,000 (~US $440K–$550K).Filling this role underlines DHL’s move to embed customer-centric innovation into its global supply-chain strategy, signalling a shift beyond traditional operations.

Levi Strauss & Co. named Chris Callieri as Senior Vice President and Chief Supply Chain Officer, starting mid-September. He succeeds Liz O’Neill, who retired earlier in the year. Estimated salary: $600,000–$750,000.Levi’s is doubling down on DTC agility and sustainability. Bringing in a seasoned leader from Victoria’s Secret indicates a push for retail-grade responsiveness.

Apple promoted Sabih Khan to Chief Operating Officer, overseeing global procurement, manufacturing, and logistics. He replaces Jeff Williams, who is retiring and transitioning to other projects. Estimated salary: $1.5M–$2M base, with equity likely doubling total comp. Elevating a longtime operations lead ensures continuity in Apple’s notoriously complex supply chain—key amid ongoing semiconductor and geopolitical instability.

LayerZero Power Systems appointed Annette Clayton as Chair of the Board. Clayton previously served as CEO and Chief Supply Chain Officer at Schneider Electric North America. The predecessor was not specified. Estimated package: $300,000–$400,000 (cash and equity). LayerZero is positioning for infrastructure-scale growth in energy and data logistics. Clayton’s supply chain and ops pedigree provide credibility during this capital-intensive expansion.

Companies appear to be elevating supply-chain leaders with deep operational and digital expertise. Each move aligns with broader pressures: inflation, sustainability, localization, and supply volatility. Expect more strategic hires as 2025 transitions into a period of tech-enabled resilience.
